Tolworth Gym Club was founded in 1981 by our President Roger Corry. Originally it was to satisfy a small self-motivated group of parents who were unable to find suitable gymnastics facilities in the area to coach 12 children.

In 1984, the demand at Tolworth Gym Club was fantastic and becoming ever increasing. Roger invited Pat Gale to join the team at the club where she is now head coach and club leader.

Pat has been actively involved in gymnastics in the Royal Borough of Kingston for more than 30 years, both as a gymnast and coach. She has taught at all levels of gymnastics (pre-school, general and elite) through county to national level and been Team Manager for the 4 gymnastic teams for the Royal Borough of Kingston in the London Youth Games for the past 10 years and Chairman of Surrey Gymnastics Association for 15 years.

The Club continuously expanded from 20 to 200 members by 1986.

Currently the Club has over 900 members and is proud of its ability to involve and channel children’s energies from 5 years to adult.

We are very proud of our ability to nurture and help these children mature within the family of our club.
